My focus in web design is to create simple, functional, useable online presences for small organizations who can't afford expensive, complex webpages. A clean and clear design conveys all the group's important information, drawing the eye towards their critical points while removing distractions and confusion. Effective use of simplicity is not easy, and doesn't result in a boring product; it results in a streamlined, stylish appearance which visitors appreciate for its ease of use. A webpage should be so clear that the user is immediately drawn to the information instread of being distracted by the webpage itself.

My contracts have included various roles, such as:

• Design and development of new websites
• New layouts and design for existing websites
• Modifications and maintenance
• Content creation and proofing

For most contracts, the final design is provided to the client along with training on how to edit the content, to reduce their future maintenance costs. Most often the contracts include photo editing but do not include graphical design work such as creation of logos and graphics.

• Experience with website design in formal and informal settings for over 10 years
• Experience with writing and presentation of technical content, including 2 years of marking university-level engineering reports and presentations
• Knowledge of many web technologies including HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript
